DECLARING AND ADOPTING THE RESULTS OF THE MARCH 12, 2013 PRIMARY ELECTION RECOMMENDATION: ADOPT RESOLUTION 13-1540 DECLARING AND ADOPTING THE RESULTS OF THE PRIMARY ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 12, 2013, AND ORDERING THE RECORDATION OF SUCH RESOLUTION. PURPOSE: Goodyear held its third All Mail Election on March 12, 2013. Approximately 24.4% of the 32,852 Goodyear registered voters voted in this Primary Election. Georgia Lord ran unopposed for Mayor and received 50% plus one and is considered elected at this Primary. Two Council candidates, incumbents Joe Pizzillo and Wally Campbell, received 50% plus one and are considered elected at this Primary. The two candidates for Council who received the most votes, but did not receive 50% plus one are Brannon Hampton and Sharolyn Hohman. They will face a run-off in the General Election on May 21, 2013. Elected candidates will take their oaths and be seated at the June 10, 2013 Council meeting. (Maureen Scott, City Clerk)
