CONTRACT TO CONSTRUCT 911 COMMUNICATIONS CENTER AND PHASE I AND II OF THE GOODYEAR OPERATIONS CENTER RECOMMENDATION: Council to authorize City Manager to approve a CM@Risk construction contract not to exceed $7,038,443, which includes two Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) amounts of: $3,839,405 for the 911 Dispatch Center Project (FA1101) and $3,199,038 for the Goodyear Operations Center Phase I and Phase II Projects (FA1102 and FA 1201) and authorize purchase orders to be issued. PURPOSE: The execution of this CM@Risk construction contract allows the City to proceed with construction of the 911 Dispatch Center, as well as construction of Phase I and II of the Goodyear Operations Center, which includes a secure paved and sectioned materials storage area, Public Works and Streets vehicle and equipment storage area, a materials lay down yard, a city fueling facility, vehicle wash bay and a storage area. The project also includes the infrastructure required to support these phases, as well as future phases of the Operations Center, including the new Romley Road access point to Estrella Parkway. These projects were approved and budgeted as part of the FY 10-11 and FY11-12 budget's Capital Improvement Program. Additional designation of unallocated development fees is being requested to accommodate construction of key project add alternates and create efficiencies in construction.
