CONTRACT WITH MARIPOSA HORTICULTURAL ENTERPRISES RECOMMENDATION: Council award contract (CON 12-2113) to Mariposa Horticultural Enterprises for a base fee of $482,476.72 to provide landscape services for certain medians, right of ways and facilities. PURPOSE: The purpose of this contract is to provide a wide range of landscape services for 6,993,590 square feet of right of ways and medians, City Hall, and the Venida Complex as well as 1,878 palm trees. Basic services includes trimming and pruning, granite maintenance, irrigation minor maintenance and repair, cleaning and litter patrol, weed and pest control, and pre-emergent applications In addition to the basic services, additional services may be procured to cover future needs or unforeseen events such as storm or vehicle damage. All services are in accordance with established Park maintenance and horticultural standards. Provisions are set in place and built into the contract for quality control. Consistent communication between the contractor and Parks Supervisor will ensure all matters pertaining to the contract are addressed and accomplished in a timely manner. The contract is for a one year period with an option to extend for four additional one year periods.
