- 23 Sponsor: Director of Neighborhood Services Department Accepting a $5,000,000.00 grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) to fund the Kansas City Organic Waste Improvement Project from March 1, 2026, through February 28, 2029; authorizing an agreement with the EPA to administer such grant; estimating and appropriating $5,000,000.00 in the General Grants Fund; authorizing cooperative agreements with Kanbe’s Markets ($1,500,000), Pete’s Garden ($400,000), Urban Produce Push ($400,000), KC Can Compost ($800,000), Bridging the Gap ($200,000), Missouri Organic Recycling ($800,000) and Compost Collective KC ($400,000) to implement such grant; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date. - 44 Sponsor: Mayor Pro Tem Ryana Parks-Shaw COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE RESOLUTION - Directing the City Manager to engage and partner with local discount prescription drug and wellness programs to provide Kansas City residents with discounts to health and wellness care, including but not limited to discounted pharmacy, nutrition, fitness, and preventive care offerings; and directing the City Manager to explore the feasibility of offering various discount programs for residents at the City’s community centers and report back to Council in 60 days.
