A resolution expressing support for the implementation of safety recommendations approved by the National Transportation Safety Board on May 21, 2019, as a result of the investigation of the Amtrak passenger train 501 derailment near DuPont; and encouraging the resumption of service and use of the new Amtrak Cascades Station in Tacoma’s Freighthouse Square as soon as enactment of safety recommendations allows.
