  5. 4 The invocation was given by Rev. Kyra Baher of Unity Bay Area Houston. Mayor Pro Tem Hicks led in the pledges of allegiance to the flags.
  6. 4 Mayor Pro Tem Hicks called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and called the roll. All members of Council were present. Mayor Long attended remotely.

  55. 47 Mayor Pro Tem Justin Hicks – I have a note here. We would like to introduce a new addition to our legal department. Laticia Fuhr has recently joined League City as one of its Assistant City Atotrneys. With over two decades of experience as a dedicated prosecutor beginning in 2001 at the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office and then working across multiple municipalities in the Galveston and Brazoria County area, Laticia has proudly served those communities upholding justice. Alongside her legal career, she cherishes her role as a dedicated spouse to local League City Attorney Rick Fuhr and mom to three great kids. After two stints as the part-time municipal court prosecutor for League City, she is excited to move into the rule as a full-time Assistant City Attorney. I got another thing, I think Andy’s birthday is in two days. Also, my wife’s birthday is the same exact day, so congratulations to y’all. The American Legion Texas Tournament is going to start tomorrow, and I have been asked the honor of throwing out the first pitch, so if you want to go Santa Fe High School and watch me embarrass myself please go at 1 p.m. tomorrow. Sean Saunders – No Comments Andy Mann – I just want to thank staff. I know I was wearing John out during the storm, and they’ve been so responsive to our neighborhood requests. I really appreciate it. Thank y’all very much. Tommy Cones – Again, I would like to thank all of the employees, staff and John and all of the employees who worked overtime, especially the first responders, the fire department. If you listen to the radio and you heard them going out just constantly for power lines down. We thank all of the first responders, police, fire and EMS. Tom Crews – Just echoing those comments. I think that the city really came together and John just did a fantastic job. I thank everyone for pulling together and making it go so much smoother for the citizens. Courtney Chadwell – No Comments Chad Tressler – I’d just like to correct one factual statement that was misspoken in the argument about the Bay Colony Park. While the CIP page lists bond funding, that’s a bond that was going to be serviced with 4B money,

  57. 48 so it’s not a bond that’s paid out of property taxes, just for everyone’s information. I guess we don’t have to worry about it now, since we’re doing the park halfway. Mayor Long – We didn’t vote to do the park halfway. We actually voted to give ourselves the option to determine in the future which way we’re going to build it. I really appreciate all of the work the staff did during the storm. It was excellent. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews from the citizens.
