  5. 4 The invocation was given by Pastor Stephen Rhoads with Bay Harbour United Methodist Church. Mayor Long led in the pledges of allegiance to the flags.

  53. 46 Mayor Pro Tem Tommy Cones – Thank you, Mayor. I just wanted to thank John and his staff for a wonderful 2025 Youth World Baseball Classic on March 13 at The Ballpark in League City. I represented the city there with a small speech and represented the city throwing out the first baseball, so you missed that Mayor, but it was a wonderful time. I wanted to thank all of the staff members, the police department, fire, EMS, public works, for doing a fantastic job, IT. Ryan Smith, I cannot tell you, if he's out there, how wonderful the people talked about the event throughout the weekend. We had an estimate of 30,500 individual people that came through the gates. We had 127 baseball games in the three days the event went on. We raised about $223,000 in revenue. So, I really can’t think of any other sports event or area that we raised that much money in. I know we have debt, but it’s certainly good to know that we can raise that much money with an event. Thank you, John Meader for allowing us to use the land for parking across the street. If you went by there to look at the event, the parking was full, but the offsite parking had several, several cars out there for the three days. So, again, just a thank you John, for your staff and for everybody that put this on. I was so amazed to go out there and see Dusty Baker, Jose Cruz, Brandon Backe. These are just a few of the highlights that we’d seen out there and the kids just loved it. We had an American team out there and took some pictures with them. Just a great event. I’d like to see more of that come to League City. Thank you, John. Andy Mann – No Comments Tom Crews – No Comments Courtney Chadwell – I’d just like to say, congratulations and thanks to all of the candidates who stepped up in this special election. It can be a tough ride. It doesn’t have to be. Stay true to who you are and best of luck to all of you guys. I’d also like to congratulate all of the CCISD Superintendent Scholars that are getting awarded tonight. My daughter Grace is one of them, so I’m real proud of her and all of the students, especially the ones in League City CCISD.

  55. 47 Chad Tressler – Kind of touch on the same note about the candidates. I would like to recognize the ones that showed up here tonight. Not everybody’s free on the second and fourth Tuesday, but you have to be if you want to do this. The ones I saw here tonight, I’m going to go in alphabetical order so nobody things I’m playing favorites, Dr. Brown, Kyrsten Garcia and Scott Higginbotham. If I missed any raise your hand. Thank you three for showing up. That’s a first step. Obviously, that’s not a full qualification, but it's at least showing some dedication to what you’re pursuing so thank you. Sean Saunders – No Comments Mayor Long – I will say one thing I went out to Books at the Ballpark today. It’s another thing we’re doing over there at The Ballpark at League City. I almost said the old name. It was a great event. They had songs and story time and drawing and plays and games and a pretty good amount of crowd kind of filtering in and out. Neat thing to use that facility for something different, because it’s certainly not being used in the middle of the day. You could tell a lot of the little kids it was their first time there and to them it felt like Fenway Park. They thought it was pretty cool. It was a nice event, thank you to the Library staff for setting that up.

No member of the community is required to attend or participate in the invocation and such decision will have no impact on their right to actively participate in the business of the Council.
