  5. 4 The invocation was given by Pastor Rob Bailey of South Lake Church. Mayor Long led in the pledges of allegiance to the flags.

  40. 34 Tom Crews – Thank you, Mayor. I’ll be brief. This is really more, hopefully for more of a public informational piece. April 15 is just around the corner, and for those of you who don’t know, if you can’t file your tax return, please file the extension. The biggest penalties are the failure to file your tax returns. It can be five percent of the balance due for five months. So, you want to make sure you get the extensions filed. It’s something you can absolutely do yourself. Further on than to that, is just to say that if you do file the extension, if you miss October 15, even if you miss it by one day, it’s like the extension didn’t happen at all. You’re automatically hit with 25 percent of the balance due that existed.
  41. 35 This is to certify that the above Notice of Meeting was posted on the bulletin board of City Hall of the City of League City, Texas, on or before the 4th day of April, 2025 prior to 12:30 p.m. as well as the City's public internet webpage, www.leaguecitytx.gov and was posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Government Code.
  42. 35 So, we want to make sure that we get those extensions filed. We still have time to file the corporate extensions and the individual, and both of these are something you can do yourself for free. A lot of it is on the IRS website. I also want to make sure that people know that the 15th is also when the Galveston County Appraisal District renditions for business personal property are due. So, we want to make sure we get those done, and it also ties back to the automobiles. If we’re looking for ways to save money, these are things that we definitely don’t want to miss and things that we can do for free. I hope this helps. Thanks.   45. 37 At 6:20 p.m. Mayor Long announced the City Council will now go into executive session to discuss the following items:

  47. 39 Any invocation that may be offered during the ceremonial portion of the City Council meeting shall be the voluntary offering of a private citizen, to and for the benefit of the Council. The views or beliefs expressed by the invocation speaker have not been previously reviewed or approved by the Council and do not necessarily represent the religious beliefs or views of the Council in part or as a whole. No member of the community is required to attend or participate in the invocation and such decision will have no impact on their right to actively participate in the business of the Council.
  48. 39 At 6:29 p.m. Mayor Long reconvened the regular meeting and announced there was no final action, decision or vote with regard to any matter considered in the executive session just concluded.
