  5. 4 The invocation was given by Mayor Long. Mayor Long led in the pledges of allegiance to the flags.

Consider and take action on a resolution approving an amendment to the agreement with Thirkettle, DBA Aqua Metric Sales Company, to increase total compensation by $265,000 for the purchase of new meters and meter parts for maintenance on existing meters in the City of League City (Finance Director) 25-0295 Approved Pass

Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a one-year renewal agreement with Texas Materials Group, Inc. dba Gulf Coast for the purchase of crushed limestone for use by the Street, Stormwater & Traffic Department in an amount not to exceed $62,500 (Director of Public Works) 25-0297 Approved Pass

  41. 35 Mayor Pro Tem Tommy Cones – Thank you, Mayor. I just want to tell everybody that I hope we can say some prayers for the folks in the Hill Country. Such a loss there, I don’t know how you recover from that being a parent. Also wanted to say that we had a local League City Fire Department member and also his family was affected by it. So, Mr. Perry, keep them in your prayers and keep all of them in your prayers in this time to try to remember and build back stronger and keep our faith.   42. 36 ________________________ DIANA M. STAPP CITY SECRETARY (SEAL) MINUTES APPROVED: July 22, 2025
  43. 36 Scott Higginbotham – I just wanted to commend, real quick, staff and all of the volunteers for the fireworks on the third and the Citizen Appreciation Day. Those were great events. It was a huge crowd at Citizen Appreciation Day. So, great job to everybody involved and I hope we can just keep that going for a long time. Chad Tressler - No Comments Sean Saunders - No Comments Andy Mann - No Comments Mayor Long – Same thing, thank you for the staff putting in all that work. That’s pretty tough to go from an event at night to turn around to do it all bright an early in the morning. Both events were extremely well attended, especially on the fourth of July. I got there and it started at 10 and I got there about 9:15 and it was already almost a full house by then. By the time it got really going at 10 it was absolutely packed. So, great job and thanks, everybody, for doing that.

  45. 38 Any invocation that may be offered during the ceremonial portion of the City Council meeting shall be the voluntary offering of a private citizen, to and for the benefit of the Council. The views or beliefs expressed by the invocation speaker have not been previously reviewed or approved by the Council and do not necessarily represent the religious beliefs or views of the Council in part or as a whole. No member of the community is required to attend or participate in the invocation and such decision will have no impact on their right to actively participate in the business of the Council.
