10. 7 Parks and Recreation Director Chien Wei introduced Blake Coleman, Principal with TBG Partners, who gave a presentation on the proposed Pat Hallisey Park-Memorial. The Site and its History: • Texas Killing Fields is an area along I-45, where 34 victims have been discovered, primarily young women. • Many of these cases remain unsolved • Four victims were found in League City, Texas between 1984 and 1991: Heidi Villareal-Fye, 23; Laura Miller, 16; Audrey Lee Cook, 30; and Donna Gonsoulin Prudhomme, 34. The League City Council vision for the memorial is not limited to just a memorial. It seeks a meaningful destination that draws people in and allows for a community gathering to celebrate life. The purpose is to create a memorial that will serve as a space of remembrance, healing and community awareness, and honor 4 League City victims. Conceptual designs of Option 1 and Option 2 (slides) Option 1 - Opinion of Probable Construction Cost (including contingency/general conditions - $247,250 (Memorial Panel, seating at lawn and seat wall) Option 2 - Opinion of Probable Construction Cost (including contingency/general conditions - $247,825 (Memorial Wall, bench seating)
