7. 7 VI. Public Comments - Comments are limited to three (3) minutes per speaker. Speakers may not pass their minutes to any other speaker. All comments should be relevant to City business and delivered in a professional manner. No derogatory remarks will be permitted.

9. 9 a. LPD project to fingerprint school age children with disabilities to facilitate identification will be re-engaged in August when children return to school for the Fall semester.
10. 10 b. Report on Public Health Autism Surveillance Program updates by Grecia Ramos Perez Epidemiology Supervisor.
11. 11 c. Report on Public Health Support for Children and Young Adults with Special Needs Program updates by Carmen Andrade Health Education Supervisor
12. 12 d. Mr. Jaime Garza has informed the committee that he will be resigning his position as committee member after thirteen years of consistent and tireless service. His valuable contribution and insight into the needs of individuals with disabilities will be difficult to replace. Mr. Garza has spent over forty-six years serving students with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the public school system and community.

The Laredo Health Department’s Public Health Support for Children and Young Adults with Special Needs Program is offering technical assistance, resources, partnerships, ideas and opportunities for collaboration with the TAMIU Disability Services for Students Program in the development of a sensory room to support students with disabilities and sensory needs.
14. 14 VIII.Action Item
15. 15 a. Subcommittee's report and recommendation regarding which health department’s needs assessment is the most applicable to determine the general needs for the majority of individuals with disabilities represented and served by the committee. The BRC is confident it will be able to identify the needs for the populations it serves from the current needs assessments proposed by the various health department programs.
16. 16 b. Mr. Jaime Garza will be recognized and honored by the City of Laredo Mayor, Victor Trevino, M.D., for his thirteen years of service dedicated to the BRC and citizens of the City of Laredo. The recognition will occur on July 27, 2026, at the City of Laredo City Council Chamber.
