1. 1 The Board of Adjustment hears appeals for interpretations of the Unified Development Code (UDC); for special exceptions authorized by the zoning ordinance, subject to safeguards to protect the public interest; and for variances where, owing to special conditions, the literal enforcement of the provisions of the zoning ordinance results in unnecessary hardship, so that the spirit of the ordinance shall be observed and substantial justice done.

3. II. PUBLIC COMMENT: Citizens can attend and publicly comment at City Board meetings. The public is invited to speak on any agenda item and any other item that pertains to the Board. You must sign up before the meeting to speak during this public comment period. Comments are limited to three minutes. If you choose to talk during this period, you will not be allowed to speak again when the specific item is being considered in order of the agenda.
