SUBJECT: Discussion with Stout Consultants on Affordable Housing Strategies for Pittsburgh
Please be advised that Councilperson Erika Strassburger has requested a briefing with City Council Members to discuss improving the delivery of affordable housing services to Pittsburgh residents. Consultants from Stout, who have been retained to conduct an independent assessment of HACP, will present on their work and share their experiences advising other housing authorities. Affordable housing advocates, developers, property managers, and others have been invited to join the discussion. This briefing follows up a January meeting where deficiencies in the local administration of the Housing Choice Voucher program were repeatedly cited as a key hurdle to the creation of affordable rental units in Pittsburgh.
