  4. 4 For purposes of this agenda “Action” means any of the following: amending, approving, approving as amended, deferring, denying, giving instructions to staff, making a recommendation to another public body, receiving documents or presentations, referring to committee, reconsidering, re-opening, returning, or striking the item.
  5. 5 Describe nature of emergency as required by O.S 25 § 304(5) and O.S. 25 § 312. B. This emergency meeting is necessary because a situation exists involving immediate injury to persons or injury and damage to public or personal property or immediate financial loss. Time requirements for public notice of a special meeting would make such procedure impractical and increase the likelihood ofinjury or damage or immediate financial loss. Specifically, this emergency relates to the ability of Oklahoma County to respond to potential legal fines and or administrative penalties resulting from the issuance of a citation from the Oklahoma Department of Labor and the deadline for BOCC to respond by Friday, April 24, 2024.

Discussion and possible action regarding authorizing the BOCC Chair to enter a legal contract with either Vic Albert, Collins Wagner Zorn, Pierce Couch, or Gable Gotwals for representation in a pending investigation, claim or action against the Board of County Commissioners by the Oklahoma Department of Labor not to exceed Five Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($5,000.00) pending an encumbrance of funds; directing the firm to file an Administrative Appeal as provided for in Oklahoma Administrates Code (Rules) at 380:50-7-3 within three (3) days. 2024-1982 approve Pass
  7. 7 Commissioners Comments/General Remarks:
  8. 8 Citizen Participation: “Citizens may address the Board during open meetings under the agenda item “Citizen’s Participation.” However, the Board cannot discuss, take action or make any decisions on matters not on the current agenda. Please fill out a “Citizen’s Participation” request form provided by the County Clerk’s office or complete the fillable form that will be provided by PublicComment@oklahomacounty.org and submit via email or hand the form to the recording secretary prior to the meeting.
