A request to adopt a resolution to award retired Police K9 Allie to Former Handler Paul Reinas. PURPOSE: Officer Paul Reinas has resigned from the Carrboro Police Department to seek employment elsewhere. His K9 partner Allie, is due for retirement within the year because of her age. Since the process of identifying and training a new handler, will take up to a year, it is in the best interest of K9 Allie that we retire and award her to officer Reinas. The Board of Aldermen is requested to adopt by resolution Town staff’s recommendation to award the Police K9 Allie to Officer Paul Reinas.
