NCDOT Municipal Supplemental Agreement on the Use of Additional Fiber Optic Cabling Installed During the Traffic Signal Upgrade Project PURPOSE: The Town of Carrboro entered into a municipal agreement with NCDOT, on 10/13/2008, to have additional fiber optic cabling installed by NCDOT during the Chapel Hill-Carrboro traffic signal system upgrade project. The purpose of this agenda item is for the Board of Aldermen to approve a resolution authorizing the execution of a municipal supplemental agreement revising the provision titled MAINTENANCE, Section 8. This provision defines how the Town may use the additional fiber optic cabling. The municipal supplemental agreement revises Section 8 to allow the Town to use the fiber optic cabling in any manner that is in full compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations.
