  22. 22 Chief Judge David Newblatt announced that the election of the Chairperson to the Genesee County Board of Commissioners needed to be made and opened the floor for nominations. A roll call vote was taken and each Commissioner stated their preference.
  23. IX. ELECTION OF VICE-CHAIRPERSON - ONE YEAR TERM
  24. 23 Commissioners Loyd, Goetzinger, Shumaker, Weighill, and Flewelling nominated Delrico Loyd. Commissioners Winfrey, Brown, Avery, and Cousineau nominated Beverly Brown. There being no further nominations, Chief Judge David Newblatt declared nominations were closed.
  25. X. PUBLIC ADDRESS TO THE BOARD
  26. 24 Chief Judge David Newblatt announced that Commissioner Delrico Loyd has been elected to the position of Chairperson of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners.

  29. 26 Chairperson Loyd assumed the Chair.

  32. 28 Chairperson Loyd announced that the election of the Vice-Chairperson to the Genesee County Board of Commissioners needed to be made. A roll call vote was taken and each Commissioner stated their preference.
  33. 29 Commissioners Loyd, Goetzinger, Shumaker, Weighill, and Flewelling nominated Commissioner Shaun Shumaker. Commissioners Winfrey, Brown, Avery, and Cousineau nominated Commissioner Beverly Brown.
  34. 30 Chairperson Loyd announced that Commissioner Shaun Shumaker has been elected to the position of Vice-Chairperson of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners.
  35. 31 Chairperson Loyd announced that appointments for Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons of the standing committees needed to be made.
  36. 32 Chairperson Loyd reappointed Commissioner Brown as Chairperson and Commissioner Weighill as Vice-Chairperson to the Community & Economic Development Committee.
  37. 33 Chairperson Loyd reappointed Commissioner Cousineau as Chairperson and appointed Commissioner Goetzinger as Vice-Chairperson to the Finance Committee.
  38. 34 Chairperson Loyd reappointed Commissioner Weighill as Chairperson and appointed Commissioner Shumaker as Vice-Chairperson of the Governmental Operations Committee.
  39. 35 Chairperson Loyd reappointed Commissioner Winfrey as Chairperson and appointed Commissioner Avery as Vice-Chairperson to the Health & Human Services Committee.
  40. 36 Chairperson Loyd appointed Commissioner Flewelling as Chairperson and appointed Commissioner Avery as Vice-Chairperson to the Public Works Committee.
  41. 38 Dennis Cramer, 5299 Worchester Dr. Swartz Creek MI, addressed the Board to congratulate the Commissioners on their new terms, specifically his opponent in the 8th District race, Commissioner Dale Weighill.
  42. 39 Arthur Woodson, 402 W. Stewart Ave., Flint, MI, addressed the Board to congratulate the Commissioners on their new terms and stated that he appreciated the bi-partisianship.
  43. 40 Perci Whitmore, 1463 Mark St, Flint, MI, addressed the Board to congratulate them on their new terms.
  44. 41 Steve Dawes, 6110 Grand Blanc Rd., Mundy Twp MI, addressed the Board to congratulate the newly sworn in elected officials.
  45. 43 Motion to adopt Option B of the 2025 Board Meeting Calendar. RES-2025-0054 approved Pass
  46. 44 Discussion ensued.
  47. 45 Motion to create an Appointment Committee of the whole. RES-2025-0005 approved Pass
  48. 46 Chief Judge David Newblatt swore in Clerk/Register of Deeds, Domonique Clemons.
