5. 5 Agency Briefing – Department of Transportation For the purpose of calling on the Director of Transportation and other pertinent agency representatives to come brief the City Council, on the Department’s FY 24 actual expenditures compared to the prior year (FY23), and to provide a current update on the Department’s financial performance for FY 25 (quarterly expenditure projections against the approved budget). The presentation is to include a status report on: Overtime Expenses: current fiscal year compared to last fiscal year; the current # of filled budgeted positions & vacancies: current fiscal year compared to last fiscal year; and outstanding Equipment/Departmental Needs: such as equipment, training, etc., that is needed to maintain public streets, bridges, highways, and the conduit system; Software Upgrades/New Applications for towing and project management system for reducing street cuts. The City Council is interested in the status of major Capital Projects currently underway, status of street and road repairs, status of Complete Streets, traffic enforcement, status of efforts to improve delinquent/outstanding collections and updates on any other projected challenges of the Department.
