Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Malden that the Code of the City of Malden (MCC) Title 2, Chapter .20, Section .020 ELECTED OFFICIALS SALARY CLASSIFICATION PLAN is hereby amended by inserting the following language underneath the salary chart: In order to keep pace with inflation and the cost of living, the Human Resources Director shall report to the Mayor and the City Council for their consideration, by September 1 of odd-numbered years, the following: 1) what the average percentage salary increase for city employees has been in the prior two years, and 2) what a comparable change would be for the salaries of elected officials.
