- 10 OLD BUSINESS
- 10 a. Do we have a budget? Supervisor Carlos Pichardo mentioned that here is no specific budget allotted for Advisory Boards from the Community Recreation budget. Any requests for budget would have to go through the finance process and have a justification as a new needs expense. b. Florida League of cities Youth Conference Aug 15-17. Supervisor Carlos shared that we would need more information on this. Items to discuss would be the cost and where to find funds, which board members would attend, what the board members would want to benefit from attending. Board member Lucas Martinez-Miro stated that he will provide additional details to the personnel regarding the youth conference. c. Council Shirts/Uniform Supervisor Carlos Pichardo continued to mention that our Advisory Boards do not have shirts. If there is a specific use for shirts, then we can look at them. However, we don't purchase shirts for members to attend advisory board meetings only. If the Board wants to start a volunteer or participation schedule where they will be active in events and other opportunities, we can look at purchasing shirts. Board member Lucas Martinez-Miro stated that it would be beneficial for the board to have its own uniforms so that conference attendees could identify them as representatives of their respective boards. d. FLC Youth Council Legislative days Supervisor Carlos mentioned that we would need to look at this in a similar way to the youth conference: cost and funding, who attends, what is the benefit achieved? Board member Lucas Martinez-Miro stated that he will provide additional details to the personnel regarding the legislative days conference. Board member Angelica Santeliz suggested that baked goods be sold at the farmers market on March 23 to serve to generate funds for conference attendance, should the city does not contribute to the cost of these conferences. Administrative Assistant Susan responded that she would inquire with the City Clerk's Office regarding the feasibility of implementing this. She intends to provide a follow-up by the conclusion of the week.
