- 2 The Historic Preservation Board will be holding its Regular Meeting on May 15, 2024, commencing at 4:00 pm EST. Pursuant to Resolution No. 2021-118, the City of Coral Gables has returned to traditional in-person meetings. Accordingly, any individual wishing to provide sworn testimony shall be present physically in the Commission Chambers. However, the Historic Preservation Board has established the ability for the public to provide comments (non-sworn and without evidentiary value) virtually. Accordingly, only individuals who wish to provide public comment in this format, may appear and provide those comments via Zoom. - 16 DESOTO FOUNTAIN - Hermes Diaz, Public Works Director, Melissa DeZayas, Transportation Engineer There is an opportunity for a federal grant through the state for improvements at the DeSoto Circle. The application requires a resolution of the City Commission showing they are in favor of moving forward with the application.

CASE FILE COA (SP) 2023-031: An application for the issuance of a Special Certificate of Appropriateness for the property at 1260 South Greenway Drive, a Contributing Resource within the “Country Club of Coral Gables Historic District,” legally described as Lots 1 & 2, Block 5, Coral Gables Section “E,” according to the Plat thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 8, Page 13 of the Public Records of Miami-Dade County, Florida. The application requests design approval for additions and alterations to the residence and sitework. Variances have also been requested from Article 2, Section 2-101(d)#10c for the proposed new driveway.

- 1. The next HPB meeting will be on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Wednesday, June 19, 2024 is a city holiday.
- 31 NOTE
- 2. 1221 Milan Avenue - The designation was overturned at the June 7, 2024 City commission meeting. Board Members discussed the need to be more specific and detailed in the motions and also have a workshop for incoming City Commissioners to educate them on preservation.
- 3. Streetlights - The motion at City Commission was to defer the resolution that was passed. The City Manager's Office is working on scheduling a meeting with FPL where a representative of the Historic Preservation Board and the Landmark Advisory Board will be present.

- 34 1. The Historical Resources Office has been receiving requests for minor modifications to buildings, roofs, front doors, etc. Ms. Pernas will circulate a presentation by the State Historic Office on acceptable materials that can be used.
