- 5 SUPERVISOR'S REPORT
- 6 a. General Updates Supervisor Carlos Pichardo began his report by reviewing previous events, including the Coral Gables Family Literacy Festival, the Memorial Day Remembrance event, and the recent summer camp orientation for summer staff on Friday and Saturday. The soccer season has formally concluded, and the search for new coaches for the upcoming season is underway. He then proceeded to inform the board members about a new high school tutoring program that they are in the process of developing. b. Special Events Supervisor Carlos Pichardo announced forthcoming activities for the upcoming months, including the Youth Center Summer Camps – Monday, June 10. c. Administrative Updates Administrative Assistant Susan quickly went over some of our upcoming events, which include the City of Coral Gables Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration – Thursday, July 4 at 5 p.m. For more details, please see our playgables.com website.

- 10 Board member Nicole Hoover inquired whether community recreation could investigate the possibility of installing misters at the parks considering the current heat. Salvadore Park was the park she recommended. A MOTION TO CONSIDER THE FEASIBILITY OF INSTALLING MISTERS AT SALVADORE PARK WAS MADE BY NICOLE HOOVER AND WAS SECONDED BY ISABELLA GONZALEZ. ALL IN FAVOR; PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
- 11 Date of the next meeting: Wednesday, July 10th, 2024 at 6 p.m. A MOTION TO MOVE THE MEETING LOCATION TO THE COUNTRY CLUB AS A RESULT OF A NEW TUTORING PROGRAM THAT WILL BE IN EFFECT ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON WAS MADE BY ISABELLA GONZALEZ AND WAS SECONDED BY NICOLE HOOVER. ALL IN FAVOR; PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
