  5. 4 APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
  6. 5 a. Approval of May Meeting Minutes A MOTION TO APPROVE THE MAY MEETING MINUTES AND UPDATE LAST MONTH’S MINUTES WAS MADE BY MAITE HALLEY AND SECOND BY ANTONIO GONZALEZ. ALL IN FAVOR; PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
  7. 6 DIRECTOR'S REPORT
  8. 7 a. General Updates Director Fred Couceyro began his report by notifying the board members that the first week of summer camp had commenced. He continued to provide budget updates during what happened during the city commission's capital workshop. They are currently waiting to see what happens next. Vice Chair Jennifer Marquez is interested in additional information on summer camps. Director Fred responded that a lot of camps were already full, and we still have the country club summer camp, which recently received additional advertising in the hopes of filling up as well. b. Special Events Director Couceyro proceeded to update the board on the forthcoming events for the month of July, including The Coral Gables Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration – Thursday, July 4 at 5 p.m. and Sensory Friendly Fourth of July - Thursday, July 4 at 5 p.m. c. CIP Updates Director Fred Couceyro continued his report with a brief update on the previous community meetings on Blue Road, Nellie B. Moore Park, William & Leona Cooper Park, and Phillips Park.

  11. 10 a. Catalonia Park evening activity Director Couceyro stated that the Catalonia Park evening activity has come to an end for the time being. A park ranger was dispatched to monitor the park, but they haven’t shown up to the park. He remarked that he had not heard anything else. However, they will keep an eye on it. b. Youth Center overnight/ overflow parking Deputy Director Carolina Vester informed the board members that they could consider installing swing barriers, like they have at Biltmore Tennis. Chair Carlos Hernandez proposed that we start with decals and have a staff member place them overnight a couple of times to see if individuals cease parking at the youth center.
