6. 5 DIRECTOR'S REPORT
7. 6 a. General Updates Through a brief introduction, Deputy Director Carolina provided the board members with an overview of what Director Couceyro and the Community Recreation Department oversee in the Coral Gables Golf and Country Club. Deputy Director Carolina continued to share the history of The Coral Gables Golf & Country Club. By introducing Carlos Llompart, the athletic manager, and Valerie Pinon, the venue manager, as well as providing updates on Le Parc Café. The Coral Gables Golf and Country Club Lead Lifeguard Daniel Sanchez has formally parted ways to assume a position in the private sector, according to Deputy Director Carolina Vester. She continued by stating that they will conduct interviews until they find a suitable candidate to fill that position. Deputy Director Carolina also informed the board that they have two new staff members and an intern for the summer. The board members were informed by Deputy Director Carolina that they may present their members' keyfobs at Le Parc Café to receive a 10% discount. Deputy Director Carolina went on to say that members had received a communication from her over the weekend regarding the overhang project. She proceeded to provide information about the new start date. Deputy Director Carolina then introduced Valerie Pinon, the venue manager, who would provide this year's revenue information as well as predicted numbers for next year. The Venue Manager Valerie began by sharing the event revenue for the fiscal year October 1st, 2023, to September 30th, 2024, which included over 185 events. She went on to say that for the fiscal year 2024-2025, there will be 77 incoming events. Venue Manager Valerie went on to say that this fiscal year they hosted 46 weddings, 97 socials, and 42 corporate events. They already have 39 weddings, 29 social, and 9 corporate events scheduled for the upcoming fiscal year. Deputy Director Carolina presented the board with a new packet of material that includes memberships, short-term rentals, more economical rentals, and more. She went on to say that they intended to bring the package to the board first, then to the city manager's office so that they could revise the fee resolution, and last to add the fees to the packet. The Athletic Club Manager, Carlos Llompart, continues by informing the board members that this fiscal year's membership count is 1,283. He went on to say that he gets 50% of his tours over the phone and 50% from walk-ins. He kept disclosing revenue numbers, which included everything from memberships to additional fees such as guest passes, revenue for food, summer camp, personal training, special events and activities. Director Couceyro went on to explain the two types of memberships available at the youth center and country club. Athletic Club Manager Carlos Llompart described the new equipment that would be added to the athletic club side, as well as the rules and restrictions on minors under 13 who require supervision to use the athletic club. b. Special Events Deputy Director Carolina Vester proceeded to update the board on the forthcoming event for the month of July, including The Fourth of July Pool Bash on Thursday, July 4 at 12 - 8p.m. c. Administrative Updates The report began with Director Couceyro providing updates to the advisory board on the Coral Gables Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration at the Biltmore Hotel. He provided information on all the prerequisites necessary to mount this large event. Director Couceyro continued to inform the board about the Coral Gables Golf and Country Club Divisional Director position. He continued by saying that until a suitable candidate is found to fill that position, Deputy Director Carolina Vester will be covering at the Country Club.

10. 9 a. Code of Conduct Deputy Director Carolina has informed the members that a draft of the handbook has been distributed to them for their review. b. Athletic Club’s Survey Deputy Director Carolina supplied the board with the surveys relating to the athletic club so that the members could review them and share their feedback.
11. 9 a. Access Way to the alleyway located outside To make room for additional athletic activities, Chair Don Slesnick, III suggested that the pathway outside be closed off and grassed over. The Deputy Director Carolina stated that the lift that is now there and the collector tank for the pool are in violation of the easement that exists between the two properties. The space that is available at the moment does not permit any alterations to be made. b. Public comment – Swim Lanes and mix information about the pool Deputy Director Carolina responded that if we add more, there is only room for one more. It's ready to have a new lane installed because we put safe hooks in the wall. According to Deputy Director Carolina, she just needs to make sure there is enough storage on the reel to reel up an additional full lane. It's simply impossible to add more and they will offer them with additional information on pool hours once the time changes.
