- 5 a. General Updates Director Fred Couceyro began his report by updating the board on the millage rate and budget adjustments. He went on to say that the youth center is now undergoing maintenance, and that camp is over for the week. The Venetian Pool and Tennis are still open this week for summer camp. b. Special Events Director Couceyro proceeded to update the board on the forthcoming events for the month of August, including The First Annual Quinceañera and Party – Friday, August 9 at 12:30 p.m. and following the Adult Activity Center Senior Week – August 19 – 23. c. CIP Updates Director Fred Couceyro began his briefing with a quick update on the new tenant's contract and the purchase of furniture for the Burger Bob's location. He continued to discuss the Venetian Pools concession, Blue Road, Nellie B. Moore Park, and William & Leona Cooper Park projects. He also announced that there will be a new Rotary community meeting. He also continued with the youth center's forthcoming projects.

- 6 A MOTION TO APPROVE THE JUNE MEETING MINUTES WAS MADE BY JENNIFER MARQUEZ AND SECOND BY ANTONIO GONZALEZ. ALL IN FAVOR; PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
- 7 OLD BUSINESS
- 8 a. Youth Center overnight/overflow parking Director Couceyro informed the board that they are considering utilizing two types of parking violation stickers. One is easily removed, whereas the other is not. He asked the board's advice on this choice. Chair Carlos Hernandez proposed that we begin with decals and have a staff member place them overnight a few times to see if people stop parking at the youth center, and that he shares information on how they handle parking violations in the hospital. The first will be a notice, the second will be violation stickers, and the third will be a sticker with a notice that includes towing and writing license plates until they cease.

- 10 a. Update on Somerset Gables Academy Board member Maite Halley requested Somerset Gables Academy updates. Somerset Academy requested to develop a project to add a couple hundred more students, according to Director Couceyro. For their project they presented it to the development review committee, but that raised legal concerns. They promised the neighborhood not to boost enrollment. Director Couceyro mentioned that he wasn't aware of this deal with the homeowners' organization. He continued to disclose that they had executed a contract, and that they would not increase enrollment. They would not request the usage of the youth center.
- 11 Our next meeting is scheduled for September 12 at 8:15 a.m. Chair Carlos Hernandez and Board member Yamilet Rodriguez requested to be excused from next month's meeting for travel reasons.
