This has led to the department turning to more of a phased plan emphasizing building the field, playground and resurfacing the courts in the short term and focusing on the new building further down the road. Director Coucweyro then discussed the community meeting that took place regarding the Granada golf course shelters, stating that it was a very positive meeting with the plan being two bigger shelters being installed and redoing the current shelters to look like what they are now. He then discussed three parks set to open within the next couple weeks, Dorothy Thompson Park, Blue Road Park, and the underline dog park. Following discussions Director Couceyro then clarified that the underline project will also be two separate parks including an outdoor fitness gym and Pickleball courts that will be run by the county at this time. Director Couceyro then discussed the projects being conducted at the Venetian Pool, stating that there are issues that are issues being found throughout the project that must be addressed pushing the completion date, and there is no official open date at this time. Board member Judith “Jude” Alexander then inquired if the pool would remain open during the winter season, Director Couceyro responded that they are looking at keeping the pool open, however the main concern will be figuring out a staffing plan for holiday park as this is usually staffed by the Venetian Pool employees during the closure. Director Couceyro then discussed the Fourth of July event stating that they are doing something new this year by incorporating a ten-minute drone show before the fireworks display. He continued to state that they are still finalizing the details of the drone show and the different shapes and symbols they will form for the show. Director Couceyro then discussed the emergency AED poles at within the parks, stating that they are piloting this at Salvadore and Majorie Park.
