  7. 5 a. General Updates Introduction of the New Board (Term: June 1, 2025 – May 31, 2027) Board members Erik Rodriguez, Richard Smit, Michelle White, Kirk Menendez, and Maite Halley each gave a brief introduction to the Parks and Recreation staff. The Board was presented with the updated organizational chart for the department. Director Couceyro informed the Board of a newly created position and explained that he will now be supported by two Assistant Directors: Sarah Espino and newly appointed Carlos Pichardo. He also introduced Yanessa Rodriguez as the Administrative Operations Manager. In addition, he announced that the Golf & Parks Superintendent position is currently being filled by a contractor until further notice. Director Couceyro introduced a resident to the Board who wished to express his thoughts on recreational and travel soccer programs to the Coral Gables community. b. Special Events Director Couceyro proceeded to update the board on the forthcoming events for the month of July, A Saturday at the Cinema, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" - Saturday, June 28 at 11 a.m., Country Club Members Mixer - Friday, June 13, Father's Day Poolside BBQ - Sunday, June 15, Coral Gables Fourth of July Centennial Celebration - Friday, July 4at 5 p.m. and Sensory Friendly 4th of July - Friday, July 4 at 7 p.m. c. CIP Updates Director Couceyro continued by providing an update on the Blue Road, Toledo and Alava initiatives. He then proceeded to elaborate on the concession for the Venetian Pool, Nellie B. Moore Park, and William & Leona Cooper Park. He also continued to finalize Phillips Park updates and continued forthcoming initiatives for Rotary Park and Golf Course shelter. Director Couceyro proceeded to provide information regarding the forthcoming project to renovate the flooring of the indoor basketball courts, fitness center, dance room and check in area at the youth center.

  9. 7 a. Granada Golf Course Rain Shelters Conceptual Design Presentation Director Couceyro then presented the Granada Golf Course Rain Shelter Conceptual Design Presentation to the board, as well as an update on the previous community meeting. b. 103 Sevilla Park: Presentation During the meeting, Director Couceyro presented the developers to the board. After that, the developers were able to proceed with the presentation of the 103 Sevilla Park. c. Selection of Chair Board members will deliberate on the Chair at the meeting next month, so the selection will not occur in today’s meeting. d. Selection of Vice-Chair Board members will deliberate on the Vice-Chair at the meeting next month, so the selection will not occur in today’s meeting. e. Selection of Board Member at Large A MOTION TO ELECT JENNIFER MARQUES AS THE BOARD-MEMBER-AT-LARGE OF THE CORAL GABLES PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD WAS MADE BY MAITE HALLEY AND WAS SECONDED BY KIRK MENENDEZ. ALL IN FAVOR; PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
