- IV. NEW BUSINESS
- 1. Pinewood Restoration Update - City Commission passed the capital plan for $240,000. Via Zoom - Deena Bell-Llewelyn, Assistant Director of Public Works for Landscape Services Chairperson Swain believes Ms. Bell-Llewelyn will not cut down all trees at once. She will be relying on staff and the board for direction. Any board requests should come through the Historic Resources office and then they will make the request on behalf of the board. These funds are for Pinewood Cemetery only and will not be taken away. The Procurement department will assign a project manager and that project manager will work with the Historical Resources staff. The City Manager will approve any requests from the board before the requests go forward. Vice Chairperson Martin is requesting a sign or a QR code that would explain to residents what is going on a the Cemetery.
- V. OLD BUSINESS
- 1. Pioneer Day - Date is not set, scheduled for Spring 2026. Ideas being considered: - Speaker - Chairperson Swain can take attendees on a tour. - Keep Coral Gables Beautiful - Educational component - Clean up after event - Duration - 1 hour - Rent shuttles, Parking - Corner lot is empty for staging Wynn Bradley, resident living across from the Cemetery, stated she attended a Pioneer Day in the past. At that event there was a scheduled speaker, You were also able to purchase books, water bottles and bags
- 2. Pinewood Cemetery ad-hoc committee
- 2. Elections - Staff advised applications for board positions are received by the City Clerk's office. The applications are shared with the commissioners and anyone that has not reappointed their people can consider them and put them on the following City Commission agenda to appoint them. An application was received from Mr. Jim Berlin, who lives across from the Cemetery. Another application was received from Wynn Bradley that also lives across from the Cemetery.
- VI. CITY COMMISSION ITEMS
- 1. Presentation to the City Commission - Chairperson Swain toured the cemetery with Commissioner Lara. The commissioner knew nothing of the cemetery. He asked if the board can do a presentation at a City Commission meeting. Mr. Swain reviewed the presentation he created with the board.

- 1. Survey - Board members discussed having a survey done of the grave locations is necessary. There are many graves and tombstones not in their original location.
