  3. 2 The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m.

  5. 4 ASSISTANT DIRECTORS REPORT
  6. 5 a. General Updates Assistant Director Pichardo opened his report by providing a detailed overview of current and upcoming special events. He reported the Farmers Market will begin on January 17 and will take place every Saturday through March 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the location across from City Hall. The Supervisor also announced an upcoming Movies in the Park event at Kerdyk Park, a City park located near Sunset Place. The film E.T. will be shown on Thursday, January 30, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Additionally, the Daddy–Daughter Dance is scheduled for Friday, February 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at the Coral Gables Country Club. The event is traditionally provides an opportunity for fathers to attend a themed evening with their daughters. This year’s theme is inspired by The Wizard of Oz/Wicked, featuring an Emerald City concept. The event includes dinner, dancing, and themed activities and is consistently well attended. The Assistant Director noted that the department is currently launching spring programming and has begun preparations for summer training and operations. The Assistant Director also encouraged attendees to share information about community service opportunities and seasonal employment, including counselor and lifeguard positions, with students or peers who may be interested. There being no further updates, the Assistant Director concluded the report. b. Special Events Farmers Market – Saturday, January 17th, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. (ongoing through March 28th) Movies Under the Gables Moonlight at Kerdyk – Friday, January 16th, at 5:30 p.m. (E.T.)   7. 5 The quorum was not met. Approval of the November, December and January Parks Youth Advisory Board meeting minutes will be deferred to the next meeting.
