Please submit your comment to the Clerk of the Board at: sbcob@countyofsb.org. Your comment will be distributed to the Board and posted online. 3. Attend the Meeting In-Person Individuals are welcome to attend and provide comments at the Community Forum in-person. Please note, there will not be an option to attend via Zoom. - 13 Community Forum on Cannabis Odor in Carpinteria
- 14 I. Goals of the Community Forum
- 15 a) On January 14, 2025, the Board unanimously directed the Planning Commission to amend the Ordinance to require multiple-technology carbon filtration. This forum will provide an opportunity to hear from the community most affected by odor impacts before the Board considers this issue at the March 18, 2025, meeting; b) Requesting feedback from community members specifically regarding the following: i) The proposed cannabis odor thresholds recommended by the Planning Commission: “…the operation cannot reach 7 D/T (Dilution to Threshold) for a consecutive 3-minute period time”; ii) The use of nasal-ranger technology to verify odor thresholds as well as other technologies to verify odor thresholds; and iii) Extension proposals from the Planning and Development Department; c) Holding this forum reflects the Board of Supervisors’ commitment to responding to community needs and maintaining flexibility in county governance; and d) The Board will not be voting on policy or giving additional guidance to Staff.
