- 2 Please take notice that the President of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, acting pursuant to the authority of Government Code §54956, hereby calls a Special Meeting of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, to take place on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM in Board Chambers - 400 County Center, 1st Floor, Redwood City, CA 94063.

- 7 Levine Act
- 8 The Levine Act (California Government Code Section 84308) prohibits, in certain cases, campaign contributions to members of the Board of Supervisors by those who have proceedings (e.g., applications for land use and other entitlements, contracts, etc.) pending before the Board of Supervisors and by those who may have an interest in such proceedings (including those acting as agents for applicants or potential contractors). Moreover, the Levine Act may require disclosure of contributions by such individuals. The law is complex and this brief description is not legal advice. If you or an agent have made any campaign contributions to a Board member in the 12 months before a proceeding in which you have an interest or you are contemplating making a contribution within the 12 months after such a proceeding, you are urged to review the Levine Act and consider consulting an attorney. - 9 Board decided to table the option of creating a subcommittee on Article 34 ballot measure until January 2025 when new Supervisors are on the Board dais.

- 1. Receive a report from County staff about the work and consultation that the Board of Supervisors directed regarding the proposal to place on the ballot at the November 5, 2024 General Presidential Election an Article 34 ballot measure and provide direction regarding any future steps.

- 19 Pursuant to Government Code §54954.3, members of the public, to the extent required by law, will have the opportunity to directly address the Board concerning the above mentioned business. This notice is to be delivered to each member of the Board of Supervisors, and to each local newspaper of general circulation and radio or television station requesting notice in writing. The notice shall be delivered personally or by other means, and shall be received at least 24 hours before the time of the meeting as specified in this notice.
