Speakers may address the Board for up to three (3) minutes total on the consent calendar, up to three (3) minutes on each discussion item, and up to three (3) minutes total on Public Comment, not to exceed a total of twelve (12) minutes for the meeting, unless it is determined that a different limit is appropriate.   21. 17 County Counsel, Tom Bunton, stated in the case of California Department of Housing and Community Development v. Shangri La Industries, LLC, et al., the Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to file a cross-complaint against Shangri La Industries, in this case involving Project Home Key Funding for interim housing.

  24. 19 Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman provided an update regarding the following Boards he sists on: Southern California Association of Governments, South Coast Air Quality Management District, Ontario International Airport Authority, and Inland Empire Health Plan. He also highlighted agenda Item No. 30, which is contributing money to the Chino Rancho Park Development Project. Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. congratulated the Probation and Sheriff Departments on their CSAC Awards. He thanked Luther Snoke and the Department Heads who participated in the Diversity and Inclusion Forum. Supervisor Baca said he hosted a Cup of Joe event in the Del Rosa community and he thanked the Fire Department for allowing the event to be held at their station. He said he attended the 5th Street Senior Center kitchen re-opening and Rialto’s Metro View Affordable Housing ribbon cutting events. Supervisor Baca, Jr. thanked Chair Rowe for the letter she wrote to State Legislators advocating for funding. He highlighted Item No. 4, which is accepting grant funding for the Pacific Village Community, and Item No. 31, which is providing radios for the Colton Fire Department and drones and ballistic shields for the Colton Police Department. Second District Supervisor Jesse Armendarez stated they recently held the second NARCAN training event in partnership with the departments of Public Health and Behavioral Health in the City of Rancho Cucamonga and there will be another in the City of Upland soon. He thanked the County for the support of the countywide Fentanyl prevention campaign. Supervisor Armendarez said he hosted two hiring events in collaboration with the Workforce Development Agency in the cities of Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga. He said they are planning an expungement event to assist those entering the workforce. Supervisor Armendarez invited everyone to attend a community event titled Ignite the Conversation to be held on Thursday, March 29, 2024 at 5:30 PM at County Fire Station No. 71 in Fontana. Chair and Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe provided an update regarding the following Board she sists on: San Bernardino International Airport Authority. She said Sheriff Dicus and her are hosting a public safety community meeting on February 28, 2024 at 4:30 PM at the Joshua Tree Community Center. Chair Rowe highlighted Item No. 31, which is contributing funds to the New H.O.P.E Mobile Food Distribution and Transitional Housing programs in Barstow.
