Speakers may address the Board for up to three (3) minutes total on the consent calendar, up to three (3) minutes on each discussion item, and up to three (3) minutes total on Public Comment, not to exceed a total of twelve (12) minutes for the meeting, unless it is determined that a different limit is appropriate.   21. 17 County Counsel, Tom Bunton, stated the Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to accept a payment of $1,496,382.00 and $600,000 in retroactive discounts to settle a claim against Unilab Corporation dba Quest Diagnostics. This matter involves over-charges for diagnostic tests. In the second matter, the Board voted 5-0 to file a cross-complaint against Maxim Atalla in the case Josefa Lara v. County San Bernardino, et al. This case involves an automobile accident caused by Mr. Atalla.

  24. 19 Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman provided an update regarding the following Boards he sits on: Ontario International Airport Authority, Southern California Association of Governments, and South Coast Air Quality Management District. Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. stated last Friday, March 8, 2024 was the ribbon cutting event for the Kessler Park Renovation Project as well as Opening Ceremonies for Bloomington Little League. He said his office will be co-hosting an expungement fair on Thursday, March 14, 2024 with The Way World Outreach and hosting Fishing with the Supervisor at Glen Helen Regional Park on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Supervisor Baca, Jr. provided an update regarding the following Boards he sits on: San Bernardino County Transportation Authority General Policy Committee and Childrens and Families Commission (First 5). He highlighted Item No. 36 on the agenda for road improvements in Rialto and Item No. 52 for improvements to Kessler Park. Second District Supervisor Jesse Armendarez stated he is hosting a Telephone Town Hall later in the evening from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. He provided an update regarding the following Board he sits on: California State Association of Counties. Supervisor Armendarez said he held the Ignite the Conversation event two weeks ago at the Fontana Fire Station. He also stated the San Bernardino County’s Faith Based Housing Leadership Event will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Water of Life Church. Supervisor Armendarez highlighted Item No. 16 on the agenda, which is increasing funding of contracts for substance abuse recovery services and Item No. 28, which is extending the contract with Chaffey Joint Union High School for the Focus West Program. He thanked the Board for recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. Chair and Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe announced an upcoming Resource Fair in Needles on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM with partnerships and services from the Public Defender’s Office, Aging and Adult Services, Veterans Affairs, Workforce Development, and the Assessor’s Office. She congratulated Fire Chief Tuttle on his 37 years of service. Chair Rowe said she attended the San Bernardino Symphony and the Director, Maestro Anthony Parnther, was also the Academy Award winner for Best Original Score for Oppenheimer.
