  21. 17 County Counsel, Tom Bunton, stated the Board of Supervisors, in Closed Session, voted 5-0 to appoint Ryan Hunsicker as County Surveyor.

  24. 19 Vice Chairman and First District Supervisor stated he hosted a Senior Citizen Housing event in Hesperia and he thanked those who participated. Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman provided an update regarding the following boards he sits on: Southern California Association of Governments, South Coast Air Quality Management District, and Ontario International Airport Authority. He stated tonight is National Night Out. Supervisor Hagman said San Bernardino County is slated to receive 99 million dollars for flood control projects via a new Federal Water Bill approved by the House of Representatives and he thanked Representative Norma Torres for her support. Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. stated he attended the following events: Omnitrans Ground Breaking for the new 100 percent electric bus, a tour of Fire Station 226, Rosena Ranch Street Sweeping Kick-off, and a Street Vending workshop in Muscoy. He thanked Fire Chief Dan Munsey, County Firefighters, and surrounding fire agencies for their efforts in the Edgehill Fire. Supervisor Baca, Jr. highlighted the following items on the agenda: 12, 27, 41, and 43. He also said tonight is National Night Out. Chair and Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe thanked the communities hosting National Night Out. She thanked County Fire for their efforts to protect the residents, Thomas Sone for hosting multiple expungement fairs, and Public Works for their community outreach in Devore. She highlighted the following items on the agenda: 38, 39, 40, and 44. Second District Supervisor Jesse Armendarez said he will be hosting the Second District Open House at his district office on August 8. He congratulated Arelle Middleton from Los Osos High School on qualifying for the Paralympics in Paris. Supervisor Armendarez wished all students the best of luck with the new school year. He also will be attending National Night Out events. Supervisor Armendarez said he visited foster youth housing programs in Upland and Rancho Cucamonga and toured the Chaffey College InTech Center.
