20. a) Consider additions of emergency or urgency items to the agenda to be placed on the Consent or Discussion Calendar at the Board’s discretion pursuant to Government Code section 54954.2(b) or (b)(2).
21. 17 County Counsel, Tom Bunton, stated there were three reportable items from Closed Session. The first item is in the case of John Doe v. County of San Bernardino, et al. The Board of Supervisors voted 4-0, with Supervisor Armendarez absent, to appeal the judgment in this case involving the alleged failure to report child neglect. Second, the Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to file legal challenges to two rules adopted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding reimbursement rates for medical services provided by Arrowhead Regional Medical Center to Medicare patients. Third, the Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to file two lawsuits, one against Cigna Healthcare of California, Inc., Cigna Health and Life Insurance Company and Connecticut General Life Insurance Company and the other against AETNA Health of California, Inc., AETNA Life Insurance Company and AETNA Health Management seeking additional reimbursement for medical services provided to members by Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

24. 19 Vice Chair and Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. thanked Land Use Services and Code Enforcement for their assistance with two community clean-up days in Colton and Rialto. He congratulated Community Development and Housing on the 50-year anniversary of Community Block Grant money. Vice Chair Baca, Jr. highlighted the following events he attended: Diversity and Inclusion Forum, a ride along with Southern California Edison, Kite Day, and Transit Equity Day. He congratulated Jayden Daniels on being named Offensive Rookie of the Year. Vice Chair Baca, Jr. highlighted the following items on the agenda: 17, 23, and 24. Second District Supervisor Jesse Armendarez highlighted the following events he attended: a tour of Shoes That Fit, a tour of Aldea Apartments, a tour of the District Attorney’s Office in Rancho Cucamonga, and a tour of Probation’s Training Center in Rancho Cucamonga. He highlighted the following items on the agenda: 3, 42, and 48. Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman provided an update on the following boards he sits on: Ontario International Airport Authority and Southern California Association of Governments. He announced the Chino Valley Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is on February 25, 2025. Chair and Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe stated she participated in a mass casualty training in Joshua Tree National Park.
