  24. 19 Vice Chair and Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. thanked the Department of Public Works for adding sidewalks and ADA ramps at Newmark Elementary, and their clean up in Devil Creek Canyon. He highlighted the following events he attended: 13th Annual EMS and Tactical Medicine Expo, Take Your Child to Work Day, and Earth Day Clean-Up in Bloomington and Muscoy. Vice Chair Baca, Jr., recognized Administrative Professionals and their great work. He announced that the application period for the Fifth District Youth Advisory Council is now open. Vice Chair Baca, Jr. highlighted the following items on the agenda: 26, 53, and 57. He congratulated Mark Ramirez and his family on the recent recognition of his father, Rudy Ramirez in Washington D.C. for his service in Vietnam. Second District Supervisor Jesse Armendarez highlighted the following events he attended: a meeting with the Make a Wish Foundation, CIEF Design Build Competition, Fontana Rotary, Fontana Unified School District’s Topping Off Ceremony, the Reel Reality Red Carpet Award Ceremony, Emprendedor@s graduation, toured the Office of Homeless Services, toured Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, California State Association of Counties Legislative Conference, and Legacy Ball for the Black Chamber of Commerce. First District Supervisor Col. Paul Cook (Ret.) commended the process of recognizing County employees upon their retirement and honoring their years of service. He thanked his colleagues and staff. Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman provided an update on the following Boards he sits on: Southern California Association of Governments, Ontario International Airport Authority. He highlighted the following events he attended: Reel Reality Video Contest, 30th Anniversary of Guardian Jet Center, Ribbon Cutting at Kaiser in Ontario for the Microgrid Energy System, Montclair’s 37th Annual Volunteer Awards, Chino Legends Senior Challenge. He congratulated Papachino’s Grill and Greens on receiving the Fourth District Distinguished Business Award. Chair and Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe thanked County staff for their work on Take Your Child to Work Day. She stated May 1 is National Day of Prayer.
