  2. A. CALL TO ORDER
  3. 2 WELCOME
  4. 3 Copies of the backup material relating to each item of business referred to on the agenda are on file in the office of the City Clerk. Any person who has questions concerning any agenda item may call the Engineering Department at 209-385-6860. Prior to each regular Traffic Committee meeting, a complete agenda packet is available for review in the Civic Center, 2nd floor Engineering Department, 678 West 18th Street, Merced, CA 95340 and on the City’s website at www.cityofmerced.gov. Any documents provided to a majority of the committee members after this agenda is posted will be available for public inspection in the City Clerk's office during normal business hours.
  5. 4 PUBLIC COMMENT: OBTAIN SPEAKER CARD FROM THE TRAFFIC COMMITTEE CLERK
  6. 5 Members of the audience who wish to address the Traffic Committee are requested to complete a speaker card available at the podium against the back of the Council Chamber. Please submit the completed card to the Traffic Committee Clerk before the item is called, preferably before the meeting begins. Material may be emailed to contactengineering@cityofmerced.gov no later than 10 AM on the day of the meeting. Please specify which portion of the agenda you are commenting on, for example, Report item # or Public Comment. Your comments will be presented to the Traffic Committee at the appropriate time. Any correspondence received after 10 AM will be distributed to the Traffic Committee and retained for the official record.

  10. 9 Members of the public who wish to speak on any matter not listed on the agenda may speak during this portion of the meeting and will be allotted 3 minutes. State law prohibits the Traffic Committee from acting at this meeting on any matter raised during the public comment period. Members of the public who wish to speak on a matter that is listed on the agenda will be called upon to speak during discussion of that item..

  12. 11 Adoption of the Consent Calendar may be made by one motion of the Board/Commission, provided that any Member, individual, or organization may request removal of an item from the Consent Calendar for separate consideration. If a request for removal of an item from the Consent Calendar has been received, the item will be discussed and voted on separately.

  17. F.1 SUBJECT: REQUEST #25-28 Requesting Speed Bumps on Buena Vista Drive from R Street to Highway 59. REPORT IN BRIEF Citizen shares concerns about speeding cars and trucks on Buena Vista Dr between R St and Highway 59. Citizen states that it has become dangerous for residents and children walking to and from Rivera School. Citizen is requesting the installation of speed bumps on Buena Vista Dr similar to the speed table located on Buena Vista Dr between San Fernando Ct and San Rafael Ct. 25-928 approved as amended Pass
  18. F.2 SUBJECT: REQUEST #25-29 Requesting Handicap Accessible Parking Spot in Front of Their Property on Story Avenue. REPORT IN BRIEF Citizen shares that due to construction, workers have placed materials and equipment which has limited access to the vehicle in front of their house. Citizen is requesting a designated accessible space for parking to help with the mobility needs during and after the construction period in front of their property. 25-930 denied Pass

F.3 SUBJECT: REQUEST #25-30 Requesting an Advance Stop Sign at the Intersection of Wardrobe Ave. and West Ave. REPORT IN BRIEF Citizen is concerned about the number of collisions at the intersection of Wardrobe Ave. and West Ave. The citizen requests to improve driver awareness and reduce the likelihood of future collisions. 25-931 tabled Pass

F.4 SUBJECT: REQUEST #25-31 Requesting Stop Signs at the Intersections of Donna Dr and San Jose Ave and Donna Dr and De Anza Ave. REPORT IN BRIEF Citizen shares that the side roads come into Donna Dr from Yosemite Ave and Buena Vista Dr do not have Stop Signs despite having moderate to busy traffic. Citizen states that the traffic is too fast and too busy on Donna Dr for these side streets to not have Stop Signs and requests to have Stop Signs installed at these two intersections. 25-932 denied Pass

F.5 SUBJECT: REQUEST #25-32 Requesting Traffic Calming to be on El Portal Dr. between McKee Rd. and Parson Ave. REPORT IN BRIEF Citizen states that the speed limit on this section of the residential road is 25 mph, however, they have observed many cars speed through this area that do not obey the speed limit making the road unsafe for the neighborhood including children. Citizen is requesting any traffic calming measure, like radar monitoring, lane narrowing, or speed bumps, to slow down traffic. 25-962 approved Pass
