SUBJECT: Approval of a Settlement Agreement with Pacific Gas and Electric Company to Reimburse the City of Merced for Design and Construction of a 16-inch Water Main and Reconstruction of a Portion Roadway, Curb, Gutter, Sidewalk and ADA Access Ramps on Canal Street Between 14th Street and 15th Street and Approving the Use of Pooled Cash Until Reimbursement is Received from Pacific Gas and Electric Company REPORT IN BRIEF Considers approving a Settlement Agreement between the City of Merced and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to reimburse the City of Merced for design and construction of a 16-inch water main and reconstruction of a portion roadway, curb, gutter, sidewalk, and ADA access ramps on Canal Street between 14th Street and 15th Street and approving the use of pooled cash in an amount up to $1,000,000 (design and construction) until reimbursement is received from PG&E. RECOMMENDATION City Council - Adopt a motion: A. Approving a Settlement Agreement between the City of Merced and Pacific Gas and Electric Company; and, B. Accepting $850,000 and increasing revenue account 557-1106-331-01-11 (Cost Recovery) and appropriating the same to account 557-1106-637-65-00 (Capital Outlay) Project #121055 Canal St.(14th-15th); and, C. Accepting $150,000 and increasing revenue account 450-1104-331-01-11 (Cost Recovery) and appropriating the same to account 450-1104-637-65-00 (Capital Outlay) Project #121055 Canal St.(14th-15th); and, D. Approving the use of pooled cash in an amount up to $1,000,000 (design and construction) until reimbursement is received from PG&E; and, E. Authorizing the Finance Officer to make any necessary budget adjustments; and, F. Authorizing the City Manager or Deputy City Manager to execute the necessary documents.
