SUBJECT: Approval to Appropriate Funding from the CalRecycle SB 1383 Local Grant Assistance Program to Aid in Implementation of SB 1383 Regulations Award of $129,234 for the Approved Purchase of Organic Food Waste Only Bins REPORT IN BRIEF With the authorization of Resolution No. 2016-22, Staff applied for one-time funds of CalRecycle SB 1383 Local Grant Assistance Program and was awarded $129,234 for the approved purchase of organic food waste only bins. Council action is needed to appropriate the program funding. RECOMMENDATION City Council - Adopt a motion: A. Approving a supplemental appropriation in the amount of $129,234 from the unreserved, unencumbered fund balance of Fund 558-Refuse Enterprise Fund to account line 558-1133-532.29-00 for the purchase of organic food waste only bins as part of the CalRecycle 1383 Local Grant Assistance Program; and, B. Authorizing the City Manager or the Deputy City Manager to execute any necessary documents and the Finance Officer to make the appropriate budget adjustments.
