SUBJECT: Public Hearing- Consideration of Application to Rename Merced Multi-Cultural Arts Center Black Box Theatre REPORT IN BRIEF An application has been received to consider renaming a room within the Merced Multi Cultural Arts Center. The current name of Black Box Theatre would be renamed the K & R Hansen Theatre. The application has been reviewed by the Director of Parks and Community Services for requirements set forth in Administrative Policy A-20- Administrative and was found to be compliant with all requirements and without any identifiable conflict of interest. The application has been submitted by Mr. Daniel Baladad, current MCAC President. The subcommittee of Recreation and Parks Committee members as well as City Council members (2) must agree upon a formal recommendation regarding the application. If approved, the recommendation will be placed before City Council for a final decision. RECOMMENDATION Commission Subcommittee - Adopt a motion approving the request from Daniel Baladad to rename the Merced Cultural Arts Center, Black Box Theatre, K & R Hansen Theatre.
