SUBJECT: Approval to Waive the Competitive Bidding Requirements and Authorization to Purchase Crude Glycerin in the Open Market from a List of Approved Vendors in the not to Exceed Amount of $175,000 REPORT IN BRIEF Considers approving a waiver of competitive bidding and authorizing the purchase of crude glycerin for the City’s Wastewater Treatment Facility from a list of approved vendors in the not to exceed amount of $175,000. RECOMMENDATION City Council - Adopt a motion: A. Waiving the City’s competitive bidding requirement as permitted by Merced Municipal Code Section 3.04.210; and, B. Authorizing the purchase of supplies by negotiation in the open market as permitted by Merced Municipal Code Section 3.04.180; and, C. Approving the purchase of crude glycerin from a list of approved vendors in the not to exceed amount of $175,000; and, D. Authorizing the City Manager or Deputy City Manager to execute the necessary documents and the Purchasing Supervisor to issue Purchase Orders.
