SUBJECT: Public Hearing to Consider the Introduction of an Ordinance Adding Chapter 8.52 “Rental Housing Maintenance and Inspection Code” to the Merced Municipal Code to Establish a Rental Housing Maintenance and Inspection Program and Adoption of a Resolution for the Program’s Fees REPORT IN BRIEF Public Hearing to Consider Adding Chapter 8.52 “Rental Housing Maintenance and Inspection Code” to the Merced Municipal Code to Establish a Rental Housing Maintenance and Inspection Program and Adopting a Resolution for the Program’s Fees. RECOMMENDATION City Council - Adopt a motion: A. Introducing Ordinance 2530, adding Chapter 8.52 “Rental Housing Maintenance and Inspection Code” to the Merced Municipal Code relating to the Rental Housing Maintenance and Inspection program; and, B. Adopting Resolution 2021-72, a Resolution of the City Council of Merced, California, approving fees and penalties for the Rental Housing Maintenance and Inspection program as defined in the newly adopted Merced City Municipal Code Chapter 8.52.050; or, C. Continuing this item to a future meeting.
