SUBJECT: Waiving of the Competitive Bidding Requirements, Authorize the Sole Source Purchase of a 200 PSI 12 Round Bag Filter Vessel NO-DES Water Filtering Truck Unit from NO-DES, Inc., for $501,958.50, and Authorize the Down Payment of 50% of the Purchase Price REPORT IN BRIEF Considers authorizing to waive the competitive bidding requirement pursuant to Merced Municipal Code Section 3.04.210 to purchase via sole source a 200 PSI 12 Round Bag Filter Vessel NO-DES Truck Unit mounted on a Freightliner Diesel Chassis in the amount of $501,958.50 and authorizing the down payment of 50% of the purchase price. RECOMMENDATION City Council - Adopt a motion: A. Waiving the City’s competitive bidding requirement as permitted by Merced Municipal Code Section 3.04.210; and, B. Approving the sole source purchase of one NO-DES Water Filtering truck in the amount of $501,958.50 from NO-DES Inc.; and, C. Approving the down payment of 50% of the purchase price; and, D. Authorizing the Interim City Manager to execute any necessary documents for the purchase specified above; and E. Authorizing the City Buyer to issue the Purchase Order.
