1. 1 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION INSTRUCTIONS: The meeting will be open to the public. The meeting will also be live-streamed via Zoom. Although the County strives to offer remote participation, be advised that remote Zoom participation is provided for convenience only. 9. 10 REPORTS Judges Comments (5 minutes) - Not in attendance Juvenile Treatment Center-Deputy Chief Probation Officer/Assistant Deputy Chief Probation Officer (5 min) Current population at the JTC – 13. All in program, no secure youth. 1 female under contract 1 male under contract. 1 Use of force – Hand on hand escort with youth after 3.5hr stand off. Discussion around the need for more Psychologists for evaluations. Shortage across the county and state. 12 intakes and 12 released. 4- Child and Family Team (CFT) 11 with active IEPs. JTC updates/renovations: converting two classrooms. Bringing in Creative Hope Studio – music studio equipped with equipment and a mural. Also working with former Alameda County Juvenile Hall Librarian – helping convert a space for reading and updating JTC reading material and library. Chief Probation Officer (10 minutes) - Not in attendance Treasurer's Report (5 minutes) Teri Monteroso reached out to Amy Pooley with the Foundation. $26K in assets. $9,800 to use $10K Grant in 2022 (Dunlop Fund) Amy offered to assist Commission if interested in being more forward facing, put in touch with Chris Rignes the Director of Communications. JJDPC Fund $600 – most from Commission member donations and a donation from the Police Department. Discussion around status – The Foundation requesting tax forms but the JJDPC is not currently classified as a Non Profit. Need clarification on the status due to the combination of the Juvenile Justice Commission and the Delinquency Prevention Commission into one combined commission of the JJDPC. Look into the Welfare and Institution Mandates for the Juvenile Justice Commission – inspection of Juvenile Halls, Police temporary holding prior to placement and Group Homes. Would like to get a list of Group Homes in El Dorado County. Leadership Team (10 minutes) - Nothing new to report Ad Hoc Committee Report (10min) Sandy Hurley reached out to Independence High School to see if there is a financial need/how the JJDPC can support. Asking the Commission to allocate $1,000 to Independence High School. Commission agreed to allocate funds contingent additional information on how funds will be used (school supplies, supporting field trips, activities for Back to School Night, application costs, PSAT costs, etc).
