10. 10 REPORTS Judge's Comments – Not in attendance Juvenile Treatment Center Acting Deputy Chief Probation Officer - JTC current population: 12 • 10 male 2 female • ages 12-24 (24yr old turning 25 next month) • 3 youth from out of county (Marin County, Yolo County, and Del Norte County) • 3 Use of Force incidents including one OC spray – altercation during outside yard time between two youth 6 intakes • 2 out of county • 1 West Slope • 3 South Lake Tahoe Grand Jury tour of the JTC scheduled for 9/18/25 BSCC Quarterly Meeting was held at the JTC on 9/5 and they requested a tour of the JTC. Very complimentary of the cleanliness of the facility, the kitchen, and the new projects. Noted Blue Ridge is looking to hire a new teacher Noted after several delays the new furniture for the JTC should be on order by close of 2025 and arrive early 2026 Working on CalAim – coordinated release 90 days prior – Enhanced Care Manager (ECM) medical services and transportation to services. Go Live date mandatory October of 2026 Acting Chief Probation Officer – Not in attendance Treasurer's Report Hurley noted Dunlap fund approx. $8600 General Fund approx. $1300 She requested statement and will email commission members when she receives this. She is keeping an eye out and Monterosso also offered to keep an eye out for grant opportunities for the Commission to pursue. Leadership Team – Nothing new to report
11. 11 NEW BUSINESS
12. 12 Rising Scholars Program - Lake Tahoe Community College Tori Kuwahara, Program Specialist Shane Reynolds. Director Collaboration with community and relationship building to support youth involvement. Rising Scholars received Juvenile Justice Grant funding which enables them to expand their scope to at risk and youth on the margin. Upcoming event called Rev Up scheduled for October 10th This is a collaborative event with service organizations within the Lake Tahoe community. The target population is Middle School to High School aged youth and their families. Event ideas generated from students including : Classic Car show, soccer, football, martial arts, salon services, food trucks,… Request for support from the JJDPC to help with food cost for this event as well as promoting to potential service providers as well as classic car enthusiasts who would like to participate in the car show.
