9. 10 REPORTS Judge's Comments (5 minutes) – Not in attendance Juvenile Treatment Center Assistant Deputy Chief Probation Officer (5 minutes) Current population at the JTC – 14 Youth 5 Youth from out of county (Marin, Yolo, Del Norte, Inyo,…) 1 SYTF from Yolo County 12 Male and 2 Female 7 youth with IEPs 3 Child and Family Meetings this month 6 Use of Force reports Guerrero asked if there has been a noticeable change in behavior associated with upcoming holidays and family visits. What are the obstacles that may be preventing families visiting? What if any activities do the youth in custody do for the Holidays? Acting DCPO Borovich mentioned that gas cards are available to assist families with travel if needed and those from other counties also have support from their respective counties if needed. She was going to reach out to JTC Supervisors and gather additional information and ideas on how the JJDPC may be able to support travel. As we come into fall/winter the weather is shifting and may prove problematic for some families to get to the JTC with road conditions. For the Holidays, Encompass Youth is very active at the JTC has several activities for the youth in custody to help celebrate families, relationships and be festive during the holidays. Chief Probation Officer (10 minutes) – not in attendance but ADCPO Borovich mentioned AB 1367 and length of wardship changes. Collective discussions being scheduled on impacts this may have in our county Treasurer's Report (10 minutes) - Status update: El Dorado Community Foundation funds - balance and account history Monterosso spoke to this. An Ad Hoc meeting was held on October 28th with Berger, Monterosso, Hurley, and Strongman to discuss the statements and funding trail from El Dorado County Foundation and the Dunlap Fund. Information was gathered and reviewed. Monterosso has a meeting with Amy Pooley with the El Dorado County Foundation to review the statements for clarification and will report back to the commission on findings. Would like to ask if Foundation could add additional points of contact to the statement and information distribution. Add Commission Chair, the Staff Support as well as the Treasurer to any correspondence. Monterosso shared the El Dorado Community Foundation Fund Agreement as well as a 2020 Fund Activity Statement with the commission. 10. 11 NEW BUSINESS
11. 12 Carried over from the October JJDPC Meeting. Discuss grant supporting: - Tahoe Alliance for Safe Kids (TASK) - CASA Commission decided to hold of on support until after the opportunity to meet with the El Dorado Community Foundation and there is more clarification on the commission fund balance. Guerrero will reach out to Teresa (TASK) and Rosie (CASA)…appreciate their time and presentation but would like to hold on support until we have a better understanding of the fund balance. Will reach back out to support.
12. 13 Recruiting Discussion: Request for ideas to help recruit additional members to the JJDPC. What are next steps. Ideas around reaching out to community partners if they have anyone they would refer who is passionate about supporting youth in our community. Guerrero has been working on a commission application for grant/support. He shared this with Conway for review and input before bringing to the commission for review. He would like to add a section for recruiting. Discussion around tapping into service organizations – members are already service minded and there may be interested parties that would like to consider joining the JJDPC. Conway noted building a relationship with the Board of Supervisors. The JJDPC is tied to the courts and don’t want to step on any toes but would be nice to have a good relationship with the BOS as well. Would also like to reconnect with the presiding judge (Mayberry)
