1. 1 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION INSTRUCTIONS: The meeting will be open to the public. The meeting will also be live-streamed via Zoom. 11. 12 REPORTS Judge's Comments - Hon. Leanne Mayberry, Superior Court Judge - Not in attenance Interim Chief Probation Officer, Kaci Smith - On April 19, 2026 the Borad of Supervisors formally appointed Kaci Smith as Chief Probation Officer of El Dorado County effective May 30, 2026. On May 29, 2026 Kaci Smith was formally sworn into office by Judge McLaughlin in South Lake Tahoe. Juvenile Treatment Center: Acting Deputy Chief Probation Officer, Beth Borovich – JTC Current population: 8 – 7 Male 1 Female (4 WS, 1 SLT, and 2 Out of County Yolo and Inyo) One currently pending transfer from Marin In the last month there have been 7 intakes with 3 releases 2 Child & Family Team Meetings May 27th is a Graduation Treasurer Report - $3000 to CASA and $500 to T.A.S.K – pending - Hurley coordinating with each to set up time to meet and deliver checks in person Currently $3808.97 remaining for this FY Leadership Team – next meeting agenda add recruitment ideas Outreach & Education – Mario emailed commission members article for review and discussed sharing information and resources for education.
12. 13 NEW BUSINESS A. Review JJDPC Bylaws - (Pushed to June meeting due to time constraints) B. Select Commissioners to serve on the JTC Inspection Committee - Please disregard if the letter sent to the JJDPC on May 6, 2026 outlines that we don't have to complete an inspection report for this year. (Hurley will reach out and schedule this with commission members and coordinate with JTC calendar) C. Review and discuss Julie Moukoain, Public Defenders, juvenile justice presentation to identify 3 different ideas of how JJDPC can create - Ad Hoc Committees to support issues identified during the presentation. (Push to June Meeting due to time constraints)
