1. 1 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION INSTRUCTIONS: The meeting will be open to the public. The meeting will also be live-streamed via Zoom. Oates has been in touch with Key Club at PHS and is schedule to connect with them again in August when School starts up as well as club organizers at EDHS.
10. 11 NEW BUSINESS A. Review JJDPC Bylaws - Discussion around reviewing most updated Bylaws and feedback if there are any updates that need to be considered. Commission members reviewing for further discussion. B. Select Commissioners to serve on the JTC Inspection Committee - Hurley not in attendance. Guerrero will reach out to Hurley as to the status of this. Pham and Lilly interested in participating in inspection as well as Strongman and Berger. C. Review and discuss Julie Moukoain, Public Defenders, juvenile justice presentation to identify 3 different ideas of how JJDPC can create - Ad Hoc Committees to support issues identified during the presentation. Discussion around creating AdHoc Committee. Focus on the challenges facing the Public Defender juvenile clients such as: Failed Parenting, Mental Health, Lack of Services, Societal Pressures, etc. What are ways the commission can help support. ex: Failed Parenting - research and create list of Parenting Programs to share with the public, or ways to support connecting clients to needed services, etc.
