DENVER CRUSH STYLE CATHEDRAL CITY MURALS PROJECT Sponsors: Alan Carvalho, Sue Townsley, Christian Sesma Background: The annual event in Denver brings in a significant mass group of attendees to enjoy the renewed artistry of murals throughout the city. The sponsors of this topic would like to discuss advancing the city’s annual event. We would like to have August be the month in which the Arts Commission approaches business’ who would be interested in donating their empty exterior sidewalls of their freestanding structure. The goal would be to involve all the city but possibly start with the Perez Art District for the first year or two.   9. 2. GROUP EXHIBIT IN CITY MUSEUM FOR NOVEMBER Sponsors: Alan Carvalho, Sue Townsley Background: An opportunity to celebrate the diverse artists throughout the entire city. The Commission would send out a request for proposal and create a list of all artists available which would also be used to promote our spring annual event, Artists Open Studio Event. MASTER PLAN AND COLLECTIONS POLICY REVIEW Sponsors: Alan Carvalho, Sue Townsley Background: A draft copy of the Pubic Arts Commission Master Plan and Collections Policy will be distributed to the Commissioners for review. The Commission needs to finalize the Plan and forward to City Council for final approval by no later than January 2019. A subcommittee was formed to advance the necessary changes to the Master Plan which is required to be submitted to City Council for approval and adaption to the City’s General Plan. SIOUX WAR EXHIBIT AT THE CATHEDRAL CITY LIBRARY Sponsors: Alan Carvalho, Sue Townsley Background: The sponsors are proposing to relocate the Sioux Exhibit to the Cathedral City Library for display. The sponsors are requesting direction from the Commission to proceed forward with the development of this proposal which would include details on the budget and bring back to the Commision for final approval.
