MARY NUTTER SOFTBALL CLASSIC Sponsor: Thommy Hotovec, Staff Background: Deb Hartwig a representative with Mary Nutter Softball Classic will provide an update to the Commission on this annual event. Location: Big League Dreams Date: February 21-24, 2019 Recommendation: This item is presented for information, discussion and direction only
9. 2. REVIEW OF CATHEDRAL CITY’S PARK RESERVATION APPLICATION AND SPECIAL USE PERMIT Sponsor: Staff Background: At the February 26, 2018 Parks and Community Events meeting, the Commission approved a subcommittee with members Thommy Kocan, Valerie Schechter and Diane Hines for the purpose of evaluating the provisions and rate structures within each document and report back to the Commission with recommendations. Valerie Schechter and Diane Hines are no longer on the Parks and Community Event Commission. The Commissioners need to select new subcommittee members. Recommendation: Motion to approve (insert names of subcommittee members) to work on the Parks Reservation and Special Use Permit subcommittee for the purpose of evaluating the provisions and rate structures within each document and report back to the Commission with recommendations.

ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR Sponsors: Staff Background: Unless otherwise provided by law, or by ordinance or resolution, each board and commission of the city shall annually at its first meeting held after June 30th, choose one of its number as chairperson and one as vice chairperson. Each chairperson and vice chairperson shall have authority and perform such duties as are commonly associated with their respective titles, or as may be specially prescribed by law or by the bylaws or other rules of the board or commission. Vacancies in either such position occurring prior to July 1st may be filled as in the first instance, and a new chairperson or vice chairperson may be chosen at any time by majority vote of all members of the board or commission. (Ord. 2 $ 1, 1981) Recommendation: Nominations for chair, nomination for vice chair.
